All our custom themes are handcoded custom child themes built on top of either the Genesis framework by StudioPress or the New Rainmaker platform (which also is built on Genesis). These frameworks give us solid, clean and valid code, full responsive features, and other goodies that make designing high quality, bulletproof, custom WordPress sites much more economical!
Please note – we use the Genesis high-end, professional-class frameworks NOT cheap so called “all in one” themes from ThemeForest and other vendors which are stuffed full of excess code to allow non-coders to design a site. The code bloat in “All-in-One” themes leads to a nightmare of slow speed, and difficulty upgrading both WP itself and making modifications to your website over the long haul (and given today’s hyper fast moving market, that means within 6 months to a year).
Use of “child themes” mean that the design of your site is separate from the “parent” framework code underneath. As WordPress software updates and requires changes to the framework code, the framework “parent” underneath can be easily swapped out without requiring changes to your custom child theme. Again, the goal here is for you to get the most bang for your buck and only have to update your theme when you want to, not every month because you have to!
